Do you remember your first bike? I do, it was a hand-me-down from my brother. A blue Schwinn with training wheels and a white plastic basket with colorful plastic flowers hanging on the front. I think the basket was my parent’s attempt to feminize it. It kind of worked, but I always knew it was still blue and wished it was purple—my favorite color at the time.

At ages four and 20 months, these kids love riding their bikes. They spend their free time cruisin’ the neighborhood on their bikes, as their parents walk and sometimes run behind making sure all passing cars can clearly see their tykes on their bikes. It was fun photographing small kids on their bikes. It is only a matter of time before I will not be able to keep up with them and their bikes.

Meet Milo, that tough face does not lie. He can ride forever, which sometimes makes him the leader of the pack.

On your Mark,...Get set,...GO! Yeah, mom has to go after him, otherwise he might end up a few streets over. I told you he can ride forever.

Delia recently dropped her training wheels. She grew impatient of waiting for her mom's help so she grabbed her bike and next thing they knew she was riding solo on two wheels. It is amazing what a four-year old can do with a little determination.
