They met through friends…well, she actually once dated his friend. The friend broke up with her, he checked in to see how she was recovering from a broken heart and now they are engaged to be married. Funny how things work out? Some love stories are so sweet you can’t even make them up, they just happen. Lily is from Aspen, Ryan grew up in Ohio but they share an equal passion for the outdoors, the mountains and all those activities that go along with mountain life.
Lily’s parents invited her and Ryan to spend Memorial Day weekend with them in the mountains. Aspen Mountain reopened that weekend for some late season skiing and Lily decided that is how they’d spend their Saturday. The stars aligned for them again and they scored their own gondola car to the top. During the 18 minute ride up the mountain Ryan asked Lily to be the one to spend the rest of her life with him.
I met Lily and Ryan at the Denver Botanic Gardens for an engagement session. It is a stunning location for any type of photography. The temperature topped out around a 100° that evening. All I can say is thank goodness we don’t have humidity in Colorado like they do in the Midwest and that we had some cloud cover to cool things down a little.
When we could no longer take the heat, we ended the shoot with Popsicles. Thanks to you both for a fun evening of shooting at Denver Botanic Gardens!
