This may or may not be news to you, but I am an O-HI-O girl—born and raised. I spent the first 18 years of my life in Ohio, and I recently spent a little more time in my old stomping grounds. While I was there I had the pleasure of photographing this adorable couple’s engagement session.
I notice different things about Ohio now that I am wedding photographer. For one thing, the light. If the sun decides to shine (a rarity in the winter months), it is gorgeous. I say it is gorgeous probably because it can be so long between sunny days. The sun is especially gorgeous this time of year because it is closer to the horizon. The other thing that stands out to me now are the trees. Maybe it is because there appears to be more of them than where I live in Boulder? Maybe they are taller? Maybe I am crazy? Who knows? All I know is that I can’t get enough of the trees of my childhood.
Not only did we have some sun and trees for this session, but the morning of the session, we woke to a light dusting of snow. It was a perfect winter Ohio day!
Thanks Janelle and Nik for the session and best wishes to you this summer when you become husband and wife in Maine.
