I have been described as an introverted extrovert. Do you know that that means? It means I am shy at first, but once I know you—watch out!
As much as I dislike being labeled as an introvert, I see my introverted-ness come out in my photography. I observe. I process. And then I engage with either body language or verbally. My strategy for photographing couples is—wait, observe, and only if necessary, offer a little coaching. I may say something like, “Do you really kiss with your hand in your pocket?” to initiate the intimate moments. These are my favorite moments, the intimate ones.
